Embodiment — A Creative Exploration of Self.
April 28, 2019
Conscious Embodiment explores the process of embodiment of both body and voice and our relationship to both. Embodiment is the first stage in child development, followed by Projection and Role. During the embodiment phase we become aware of self, of our own body, and through it we acknowledge and externalise feelings. Voice is part of this embodiment, a form of preverbal expression being held by the body. It is through embodiment that we first encounter this world.
Conscious embodiment can help us to become aware of our inner attachment and movement so that we can begin to move through from being attached to feeling free.
This is the first workshop of the series Creative Exploration of Self, which will be followed by Two other workshops on Projection and Role.
The workshop includes:
• Guided meditation and breath work
• Somatic movement practice
• The embodiment of voice
• Relating: from inner self to outer self
• Creative processing time
The Embodied Self is for anyone with a desire to embark on a personal research by inviting in the discovery and development of our own resources, the stories that need to be shared and the creative force that we all are.
